Our Mission & Vision

San Jacinto Church is a contemporary, growing, vibrant, Spirit filled family of faith located in the suburban community of Deer Park, Texas. We are focused on a singular mission; “To love God, love people and empower the generations to become fully devoted disciples of Christ!”

Our Core Values For Ministry

  • Truth: We have the Bible as the source and standard for absolute truth.
  • Christlikeness: We are on a journey of faith together. We depend on the transforming power of God.
  • Relationships: We invest in the lives of others. We share each other’s burdens and rejoice in each other’s victories. We consider others more important than ourselves.
  • Families: We are committed to partnering with families to empower them to be the environment for discipleship and life change that God has ordained them to be.
  • Trust: We do the right thing. We do what we say we will do. We tell each other the truth.
  • Team Work: We invite the ideas and opinions of others. We defer to one another’s unique abilities and gifts. We have authority that matches our level of responsibility. We rally together for common goals.
  • Excellence: We pay fanatical attention to quality and detail. We exceed the expectations of those whom we serve. We find new ways to improve.
  • People: We pursue people with the passion and compassion of Christ.
  • Disciplemaking: We are committed to seeing the 7 characteristics of a Christ-follower be evident in the lives of every Christian we have the privilege to shepherd.Completely Truth Filled (2 Timothy 2:15) Fully Spirit-Led (Ephesians 5:15-21) Relationally United (Philippians 2:1-4) Financially Faithful (2 Corinthians 9:6-8) Sacrificially Serving (John 12:20-26) Evangelistically Bold (Acts 4:31) Intentionally Cultivating Others (Deuteronomy 6; 2 Timothy 2:2)

What We Believe

A.  We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21; Isaiah 8:20.)

B.  We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (John 1:1‐3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Matthew 3:16; John 7:3.)We believe that: 1. Jesus Christ is true God and true Man, having been conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary; 2. He died on the cross, shedding His blood as an atonement for our sins according to the Scriptures; and, 3. He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our Priest and Advocate. (Philippians 2:5‐11; Matthew 1:18; 1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 9:24.)

C.  We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be attained. (Titus 3:5; John 3:1‐16; Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12.)

D. We believe that the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation of all who believe, and that only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become Children of God. (Romans 5:1; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 15:1‐4.)

E. We believe in the personal, pre‐millennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this Blessed Hope has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (1 Thessalonians 4:13‐18; Revelation 3:10; Titus 2:12‐13.)

F. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the Believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with his Lord, and of the Unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. (1 Corinthians 15:22‐27; Revelation 20:11‐15.)

G. We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which he is the head. (1 Corinthians 12:12,13; Ephesians 5:21‐33; Colossians 1:18.)

H. We believe that the works of God are perfect, the sealing of the Holy Spirit is everlasting, and that the intercession and advocacy of God the Son is effective so that every believer redeemed by the Blood of Christ shall be presented faultless before the presence of God in eternity. (John 5:24,10:27; Jude 24; Romans 8:1,38‐39; Ephesians 4:30.)

What is our Denominational Affiliation?

Why Not Just be an Independent Church?

We are, in essence, an independent church! Every SBC church is completely autonomous. We are not subject to the hierarchal control of any ecclesiastical or denominational body. Each church is self-governed and determines its own affairs. For example:

Every SBC church chooses its own pastor.

Every SBC church owns its own buildings and assets.

Every SBC church determines its own programs and policy

Affiliation with the SBC allows our church to participate in the largest missionary organization in the world. Through the SBC “Cooperative Program” we help support over 7,500 missionaries in 104 countries around the world.

What are the Conventions we are involved in?

We are in partnership with:

  • The Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT)
  • The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)
  • San Jacinto Baptist Association
  • Gateway Network of Churches
