Doug Butler, Worship Pastor
dbutler@sjcdp.org

Pastor Doug and his wife Laura have been married for 20 years and have three incredible children: Jordyn, Caleb and Carson. Pastor Doug was called into worship ministry in 1992 and has enjoyed a 20+ year career in part-time, bi-vocational ministry. His ministry began at First Baptist Church – Deer Park in 1993. In 2000, he and Laura were part of a small group who re-planted what is currently known as San Jacinto Baptist Church. His deepest desire is to see non-believers come to Christ and to lead Believers into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Doug has a passionate heart for worship and creating an environment for people to meet the Living God.  Doug was raised in Deer Park; graduated from Deer Park High School in 1987, graduated from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1991 with a B.S. in Accounting and graduated from Baylor University in 1993 with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Doug works full-time as the Administrator of Women’s & Children’s Services at UTMB Health in Galveston. Doug is grateful that he has the privilege to be God’s hands and feet at a secular workplace while leading worship at San Jacinto Baptist Church.

Pastor Doug and Laura together share the gift of hospitality and host and lead Growth Groups at their home in League City. They enjoy mentoring young couples/families and have also recently begun a new journey of adopting a new daughter from Haiti and have become advocates for both domestic and international adoptions.
